Birmingham Middle School

Day 1.  Arrive Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at 9:23 AM.   Proceed to Flagstaff for lunch (location TBD), then to Meteor Crater.  From here to Chinle, Arizona. 

 April 26, Day 2.  Breakfast at the Best Western by menu or at the Thunderbird Lodge cafeteria. We will break into two Groups.  Group one will go on a two hour horseback ride into Canyon de Chelly.  Group 2 will hike into White House Ruin.  Upon completion of the riding activity, Group 1 will lunch at the Thunderbird Lodge.  Group 2 will lunch upon return, then go riding, Group 1 does the White House Ruin hike.  We can ride 30 at a time.  If necessary we will add a third group of riders to make sure all who want the ride get it.  Fill in, if needed will be at the Visitor’s Center or the Spider Rock overlook.  Dinner will be either at the hotel, or at the Thunderbird Lodge.  This will be up to the participants as a bus will go to the lodge. 

Day 3.  Breakfast at the Best Western by menu or at the Thunderbird Lodge cafeteria. Go to Four Corners, where Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado meet.  Take pictures, acquire gifts and depart for Monument Valley.  Lunch TBD.  Navajo guided jeep tour and Navajo Cookout in Monument Valley, replete with Navajo songs and stories.  Drive to Cameron, Arizona. 

 Day 4:  Breakfast at Cameron.  Restaurant opens at 6 AM.  Enter the Grand Canyon National Park.  Stops will include Desert View, Yavapai Point and El Tovar.  A talk on the history of the Grand Canyon will be at Yavapai Point.  Return to Phoenix.  Overnight at the Sleep Inn at the airport.  B

 Day 5:  Depart Sky Harbor Airport.  Transportation to the airport included.
